Two unfortunate cases of infant deaths following circumcision

In the last 24 hours, reports were received regarding the deaths of two infants shortly after they underwent a circumcision ceremony in different localities in the country. The difficult events caused a stir on social media and news channels on Telegram.

According to a report on the channel 🎗️Israel News IL🎗️, an infant about a week old passed away after undergoing a circumcision in the Mateh Asher Regional Council. The channel, which reports on current events, noted his death without further details on specific medical circumstances in this report.

At the same time, Zirat HaHadashot and News in Real Time on Telegram reported on another tragic case. According to reporter Liran Tamari, an 8-day-old infant was evacuated to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital after a circumcision performed in one of the localities of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council, where his death was pronounced as noted in Zirat HaHadashot.

As of now, there are no official reports from the Ministry of Health linking the two cases or pointing to a systemic failure, but the reporting channels emphasized the severity of the cases and their unfortunate timing close to the performance of the ceremony.
