In the shadow of the security tensions, US President Donald Trump addressed the ongoing negotiations with Iran in an interview with Fox News. According to him, the US is at a point close to a "very good deal," but emphasized that he is not in a hurry, as a central goal is ensuring the prevention of the development or acquisition of nuclear weapons of any kind. Trump noted that if these conditions are not met, he will turn to the "Department of War," and added: "We will finish it in another way."

According to a report in Ynet News, Trump defined any agreement that does not serve the interests of the US as a red line. In the interview, the president admitted that the Iranian side is proving to be "very tough negotiators." On the other hand, he boasted of previous achievements of his administration, such as the case in Venezuela, which he described as a "one-day victory."

Meanwhile, an American official cited by Barak Ravid in Asaf Rozensweig revealed that Trump requested to make changes to the details of the agreement, which requires an additional round of consultations with the Iranian side. That same official noted that Tehran's response time is particularly slow, while cynically noting that the Iranians are "really in caves and do not use email."

Despite the threatening tone toward Iran, Trump emphasized in the interview with Asaf Rozensweig that he prefers to reach a diplomatic agreement over a military confrontation, out of humanitarian considerations and the desire to open shipping routes in Egypt without delay. At the same time, he clarified that the military alternative remains on the table as a realistic option ready to be activated.
