NYT Publication: US and Israel planned to enthrone Ahmadinejad in Iran

A dramatic report published in the New York Times and quoted extensively by ynet news and Israel Hayom, suggests that on the first day of the "Roar of the Lion war", Israel and the US acted to install former Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as the country's leader. According to the report, the Israeli Air Force struck Ahmadinejad's home in Tehran in an attempt to free him from house arrest, but the plan went awry after he was wounded in the attack. Consequently, according to Hot News, he "became disappointed with the regime change plan and ceased all further communication with Israel," and his whereabouts have since disappeared.
