The Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated this morning (May 19, 2026) that the Navy's operation to take over the Turkish flotilla that was on its way to the Gaza Strip has concluded. According to reports, the Navy took over all the boats that made up the flotilla, following a day of intensive naval activity.
Amit Segal reported that the operation lasted over a day until the takeover of the fleet was completed, while the newspaper Israel Hayom noted that the forces focused on the "center of gravity" of the flotilla to decide the campaign.
According to the update from Suliand & Blumenthal, who are sometimes identified with a critical approach toward government policy, 430 activists who were on the ships were transferred to Israeli vessels. The activists are now making their way to Israel, where they will be allowed to meet with their consular representatives.
