[67227] Aid for combat soldiers and a call for the release of a soldier: civilian initiatives at the center of public discourse
Civilian initiatives at the heart of the effort for IDF soldiers
In the Israeli online sphere, extensive activity by civilian initiatives intended to support IDF soldiers is evident today, both on the mental and legal levels.
The healing center in Georgia
On the Abu Ali Express channel, known for a critical line toward terrorist elements and being distinctly pro-Israel, an emotional appeal from Ronen and Merav, owners of the "Soraya" center in Georgia, was published. The two relate that following the events of October 7, they turned their private hospitality complex into a "healing center for reserve combat soldiers returning from the front." According to them, after long months of funding the support activity from their own private money, the resources have run out, and they are turning to the public with a request for financial aid to "keep the gates of this place open."
Protest for an imprisoned soldier
At the same time, the Torat Lechima - For the IDF channel, which promotes an activist and security-oriented agenda, published an urgent call from the parents of soldiers in the Nahal company. The parents are calling on the public to come to demonstrate this evening at 19:30 in front of Prison 10, with the goal of "protecting the soldiers and demanding the release of the soldier from prison". The central message of the organizers is that "the soldier must not remain in prison for the holiday," while calling on the public to abandon their daily routine and come support their struggle.
