[64869] Wave of UAV attacks in the Gulf: Suspicion of involvement by Iranian-backed Iraqi militias
Gulf tension: UAV infiltration toward strategic targets
Over the past day, there has been an increase in regional tension following reports of UAV launches toward the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. According to the Abu Ali Express channel (which takes a critical stance toward Iran and the Ayatollah regime), the UAE Ministry of Defense stated that drones launched toward a nuclear power plant arrived from the west, without pointing a direct finger at Tehran, unlike in previous cases. This channel raises the possibility that the launches originated from Yemen or Iraq.
Simultaneously, the Saudi Ministry of Defense officially reported that the kingdom's air defense systems intercepted three UAVs yesterday that had infiltrated its territory from the direction of Iraq. The Saudis declared that they "reserve the right to respond to the violation of their sovereignty at the appropriate time and place." According to the analysis on the Abu Ali Express channel, these facts strengthen the assessment that the vehicles launched toward the UAE also arrived from that same Iraqi sector.
On the Unification of Fronts | Shachar Kleiman channel, which covers the Arab desk, they reinforce the assessment that the Iranian regime has "returned to activating terror proxies in Iraq against the Gulf states." Kleiman notes that since the vehicles penetrated the UAE's airspace via the western border with Saudi Arabia, it is highly likely that this is a coordinated action by militias operating under Iranian sponsorship in the region.
