Security tension in the Gulf: Reports of launches from Iran towards the United Arab Emirates
Over the past day, many media outlets reported the activation of air defense systems in the United Arab Emirates following missile and UAV launches attributed to Iran. According to News from the Field on Telegram, which is identified with a critical stance towards Iran and Hamas, the systems in the Emirates were activated against aerial threats that originated from Iranian territory. Similar reports were also published in Suleiman & Blumenthal, ynet News, and Barak Betesh - Barak Betesh, which noted that this was an unusual event.
On the other hand, Iran strongly rejects the claims. The emergency headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, "Khatam al-Anbiya," published an official statement cited in News Channel 8200 as well as in News from the Field on Telegram, in which it was claimed that "we have not launched missiles or UAVs at the United Arab Emirates in the last few weeks."
Alongside the denial, Tehran issued an explicit threat towards the United Arab Emirates. In an official statement, they noted that "if any steps are taken from your territory against the islands, ports, or coasts of Iran - we will respond with a crushing response that will make you regret it" (Source: News from the Field). The threat was also echoed in reports on News Channel 8200, which emphasize the hardline security stance.
On the international level, there was a reference from former US President Donald Trump. According to News in Real Time, Trump refrained from placing direct blame on Iran for violating the ceasefire, noting that "the few UAVs and missiles that were fired today - were intercepted."
