Basic Law: Torah Study advances to first reading

The coalition continues to advance the legislative procedures of the "Basic Law: Torah Study," as the committee approved the wording of the law ahead of its presentation for a vote in the Knesset plenary tomorrow. The move has received extensive coverage in various media outlets.

Amit Segal and Hadashot Mehashetah on Telegram reported that the bill was approved in the Knesset Committee and is expected to reach the plenary as early as tomorrow. Dafna Liel, sometimes identified with positions supporting the government, defined the report as "Breaking."

Reports from Knesset Channel 99 indicate that the approval of the law in the committee took place "amidst opposition protests." At the same time, additional channels such as 🔞 Israel News and The News Arena updated that the law will be brought to a first reading in the plenary tomorrow.
