Iranian President expected to visit Pakistan on an official visit
On June 22, 2026, official Iranian sources confirmed that the country's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, will depart tomorrow for an official visit to Pakistan. According to Habib-Allah Abbasi, Director of Public Relations for the Presidential Office, as reported by the IRNA News Agency, the visit is expected to last one day. The city of Islamabad has already begun preparations, with Iranian flags hoisted on main streets and near government buildings, as reported by the official channel of the Revolutionary Guards and Khabar-e Fori Jang.
According to official reports, the goals of the visit are "to follow up on previous decisions, examine the expansion of economic ties between the countries, and thank the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, for mediation efforts between Iran and the United States." IRNA Agency emphasizes that the issue of American mediation constitutes a central component of Pezeshkian's agenda.
Early reports on the subject came from the Al-Mayadeen network, which is affiliated with the Axis of Resistance, and which cited "Pakistani sources" even before the official announcement by the President's office. Al-Mayadeen channel highlighted the speed with which the information was received and served as the central factor that pushed the news on Iranian social networks, including the Pezeshkian supporters channel.
In parallel to the reports on the visit, Farsi X channel noted that concurrently with the planned visit, the American delegation led by J.D. Vance remains at hosting sites in Switzerland, which has sparked interpretations among various parties regarding the connection between the visit to Islamabad and the indirect contacts being conducted with the West.
