Storm surrounding Iran national team star: Football Federation claims digital forgery
A public storm has erupted on social media following the dissemination of videos and images attributed to Iranian national team footballer Mohammad Mohebi. In the viral footage, the player is seen tearing down posters featuring the slogan "Woman, Life, Freedom" and throwing them into a trash can.
In an official response, the Football Federation of Iran published an official statement denying any connection between the player and the documented event. According to a report by Iran International, the Federation stated that "the aforementioned images are completely fake and were created using artificial intelligence tools and digital manipulation techniques."
In reports by other media outlets, including Akharin Khabar and Football 360, it was emphasized that the images were not verified by any official media outlets and that the content was distributed solely via social media accounts. The Federation added that it is a case of "digital manipulation" that does not reflect reality.
For their part, fan groups such as the Esteghlal Fans Channel came to Mohebi's defense and noted that the player himself denied what was attributed to him. The fans emphasized that "Mohammad Mohebi's good name has been proven in the past" and that the videos were intended to smear his name by interested parties.
