[87198] Changes to the schedules of matriculation exams and university examinations in Iran
Sweeping changes to exam schedules in Iran
The Iranian Ministry of Education and leading academic institutions have issued urgent updates to examination schedules, against the backdrop of changes in the national calendar. According to Ye Danesh Amoz, the final exam dates for 11th and 12th grades for the year 1405 were officially published, with exams to be held between July 20 and August 12.
Postponement of academic examinations
At the same time, higher education institutions were forced to change their end-of-semester exam dates. Tarbiat Modares University announced that exams scheduled for July 13-17 were postponed to the range between July 20 and 24, due to "the conflict with the farewell and funeral ceremonies of the martyr leader of the Islamic Revolution." Similar changes were reported by the University of Kurdistan.
Updates in medicine and science
The world of medicine and science was also affected by the changes. The Meta-Anatomy Laboratory reports a series of postponements in medical certification and specialty exams. Among other things, "the 53rd examination for medical residents was postponed from July 25 to August 1," and the comprehensive medical science exam was postponed to September 13. The Student News Agency (SNN) updated that the non-centralized scientific Olympiad exam for students will take place on August 2.
Guidelines for matriculation exams
The Ministry of Education has distributed strict guidelines to the system, as published in the Administration and Employment Channel:
- Exams will begin at 07:30 AM, with classroom doors locking at 07:20 AM.
- There is a total ban on carrying electronic devices, including smartwatches.
- Every student who does not have previous achievement records must take the final exams, as "absence means a grade of zero."
