[75457] Iran: Universities return to activity after a four-month shutdown
Resumption of studies in Iran: First steps towards normalcy
According to reports on SNN.ir|Student News Agency, which is affiliated with the conservative establishment in Iran, universities across the country have reopened after more than four months of shutdown, which the agency defined as the result of a "war imposed by the American and Zionist enemy." The agency notes that following the "cessation of fighting and the creation of relatively stable conditions," it was decided that graduate students would return to in-person learning starting May 30 (the 9th of the month of Khordad).
In parallel, the Birjand University of Technology has published detailed guidelines for implementing the new policy. According to the institution's announcement, master's degree studies will take place on campus, while undergraduate students will continue to study using online systems (LMS). Regarding practical courses, the university stated that they may be held in a concentrated and in-person format if necessary.
In addition to academic aspects, the university is working to demonstrate a presence in the community. On June 6, the university administration, led by President Dr. Rezapour, held a "service table" in the central square of the city to meet with the public. The institution is simultaneously continuing employment initiatives and is planning an entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence workshop for students scheduled for May 31.
In the background, the university's counseling and welfare center published an emotional message to the students absent from campus: "The dormitories remain cold without your laughter," read the center's announcement, which highlights the anticipation for a full return to campus life after the prolonged shutdown.
