Iranian state-aligned and IRGC media are citing Israeli sources to report a simultaneous missile attack launched by Iran and Hezbollah against Israel, following massive US-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian infrastructure earlier this week.
Iranian military and state-aligned media outlets are broadcasting reports of a major, coordinated military retaliation against Israel. According to these channels, a multi-front assault has been initiated, featuring simultaneous missile launches from both Iranian territory and Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
The IRGC-affiliated کانال اخبار سپاه پاسداران 🏴 reported, citing Hebrew sources, that "Iran and Hezbollah have simultaneously fired missiles towards Israel". This narrative was immediately echoed by the state-run فارس بینالملل و سیاست خارجی (Fars News International), which stated that Israeli sources "announced that Hezbollah and Iran have simultaneously launched a missile attack." By quoting unnamed Israeli and Hebrew sources, these Iranian channels are presenting the simultaneous nature of the attack as an established fact acknowledged by the adversary.
These reported missile strikes take place against the backdrop of extreme regional volatility. Between March 9 and 13, the United States and Israel conducted an unprecedented wave of airstrikes across Iran, significantly degrading the country's military, naval, and air defense infrastructure. In response to the heavy bombardment and calls from Israeli leadership for regime change, IRGC commanders explicitly threatened to destroy Middle Eastern energy infrastructure. The coordinated missile launches also closely follow the formal appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.
Both source channels are deeply tied to the Iranian regime; Fars News is state-aligned, and the Sepah Pasdaran channel explicitly reflects the messaging of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Both channels notably rely on unspecified 'Hebrew sources' or 'Israeli sources' to substantiate their claims of a simultaneous attack, a common tactic used to project credibility and demonstrate the impact of their operations on the target.
