[67963] A wave of price hikes in Iran: dairy products will increase by 20% starting in June
Following an official decision to raise the price of raw milk, the Dairy Industry Association in Iran has announced a 20% increase in the prices of dairy products for consumers starting June 1st.
Significant price increase in dairy products in Iran
Starting June 1, 2026, the prices of dairy products across Iran are expected to jump by approximately 20%. According to reports in خبر فوری جنگ ایران and آخرین خبر, the decision comes as a direct result of a government decision to raise the price of raw milk.
Raw milk price update
According to the announcement by the انجمن صنایع فرآوردههای لبنی (Dairy Industry Association), the price of each kilogram of raw milk with 3.2% fat was set at 15,000 Tomans. This figure was also confirmed by خبرگزاری ایرنا, the state news agency associated with the regime's positions, which noted that the price was set within the framework of the "16th Group for Food Security and Agricultural Product Market Correction."
Impact on the consumer
Mohammad Parvood, spokesperson for the Dairy Industry Association, stated in a report by irZagrosNews that "due to the increase in the price of raw milk and its impact on the total production cost, the prices of dairy products will increase by 20%." Factories were instructed to purchase milk according to the new rate starting from June, although existing inventories in warehouses are expected to be sold at the old prices.
The agency ایرنا noted that the responsibility for setting prices has effectively been transferred to professional unions and associations, a step indicating a change in the supervision mechanism for staple goods in the Iranian economy.
