According to reports in the Wall Street Journal relying on American officials, United States forces took control of an oil tanker linked to Iran overnight while it was sailing in the Indian Ocean. According to Al Arabiya Farsi, it is a tanker named "Sky View," which had American sanctions imposed on it back in March for its involvement in transporting Iranian oil.

Al Arabiya Farsi, which is identified with a critical stance toward Iran, reports that the ship was carrying an estimated one million barrels of crude oil, likely from the oil terminal on Kharg Island. Data shows the ship was located after it had crossed the Strait of Malacca and was on its way in the western Malaysia area before being seized.
