During the meeting of BRICS foreign ministers in New Delhi, the Iranian presence led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stood out, turning the international arena into a stage for harsh attacks against Iran's neighbors. In addition to the tensions with the Emirates, Araghchi used the stage to attack American and Israeli policy. According to DW Persian, the Iranian Foreign Minister called on BRICS members to explicitly condemn the "violation of international law" by the US and Israel. Araghchi claimed that Iran is not placing obstacles in the Strait of Hormuz and accused the US of imposing an illegal siege on the maritime passage.

Sources identified with the regime, such as the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), highlighted Araghchi's speeches as an act of firm standing against "extortion" and noted that Iran is not interested in war but is prepared to defend itself. Conversely, reports in international media, as brought by payam_iran405, indicate that the Iranian demands for political condemnations have created rifts within the organization, and that the deep disagreements between the organization's members (Iran and the Emirates) make it difficult to formulate a joint statement.

As part of his visit to India, Araghchi held a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts, including the foreign ministers of Russia, Egypt, Malaysia, and Thailand. The Russian News Agency reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed a willingness to provide mediation services between Iran and the US to reach an agreed-upon solution.
