Various sources identified with the Axis of Resistance, alongside other media outlets, report today, May 7, 2026, that Azzam Khalil al-Hayya, the son of a senior Hamas official in the Gaza Strip, was killed as a result of an Israeli airstrike that took place last night.

According to the report in Khabari Plus, citing a source at Al-Shifa Hospital, Azzam died of his wounds after being hit in the strike. The channel 'Akharin Khabar' notes that with his death, the number of Khalil al-Hayya's sons who have been eliminated has risen to 4, as his brothers Osama, Hamza, and Hammam were killed under similar circumstances in the past. The news was also confirmed by the 'Sepah Iran' channel, affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, which reported that Azzam was seriously wounded in a strike near the Jabalia station and subsequently died of his wounds.

In the reports from Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Iranian government, it was noted that initially there were conflicting reports about him only being wounded, but subsequently his death was confirmed. Iran International, which is a media outlet critical of the Iranian regime, reported that according to Israeli and Arab sources, Azzam al-Hayya was killed in an airstrike carried out by the IDF on Wednesday.

The death of Azzam al-Hayya marks the continuation of widespread targeting of the family members of the organization's senior officials in the Gaza Strip during the current war.
