The Iranian Ministry of Education updates the end-of-school-year examination format

The Iranian Ministry of Education has published new guidelines ahead of the upcoming exam period, which will begin on June 9. According to the خبر فوری جنگ ایران Telegram channel, which is associated with ongoing reports on the security situation, learning in elementary schools will be evaluated "descriptively" by teachers, who will fill out assessment forms based on the students' performance throughout the year.

Regarding middle school students and 10th graders, it was reported on the خبر فوری جنگ ایران channel as well as in خراسان آنلاین that the exams will also begin on June 9. Officials in the Ministry of Education clarified that the final format of the exams—online or in-person—will be decided in accordance with the "current conditions of the country."

In addition, the Ministry of Education announced an organizational change at the state level: according to the reports of both channels, all standardized (national) exams for grades 7–10 have been canceled, and it was decided that the exams will be held at the regional level only. This decision is seen as an additional step for logistical preparation in light of the uncertainty prevailing in the country.
