An earthquake was felt in western Iran

During the night of Wednesday, May 6, 2026, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale was felt in the Gilan-e Gharb area of Kermanshah province. According to the report by Vahid Online, the event occurred at 00:23:21 (local time) at a depth of 9 kilometers. The Geophysics Institute of the University of Tehran, which serves as the official source of information for most media channels in Iran, confirmed the exact details of the earthquake's location (34.19 degrees north latitude and 45.68 degrees east longitude).
