According to a report by Vahid Online, a Telegram channel covering political and social events in Iran from an opposition perspective, the execution of two young men was carried out today (May 3, 2026) in Mashhad. The deceased are 21-year-old Mohammad-Reza Miri and 25-year-old Mehdi Rasouli, both workers who took part in the 'Day Revolution' (January) protests.

In a tweet cited by Vahid Online, lawyer Marzieh Mohebbi revealed that the Iranian authorities misled the families of the condemned. According to the report, the Revolutionary Court told the families that "the case is under review by the pardon committee," in order to prevent them from acting publicly against the sentence.

The tragedy was revealed when the families were summoned by the authorities to arrive at the cemetery at ten in the morning, where it became clear to them that their loved ones had already been executed. The report was also distributed on the پیام ایران channel, which is also identified with voices critical of the regime in Iran.
