[47695] Online storm surrounding Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir's controversial birthday cake
Public uproar surrounding Minister Ben-Gvir's birthday celebrations
Images circulated on social media show the 50th birthday cake of Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, decorated with a symbol of a noose. The cake features the phrase: "Sometimes dreams come true," which has been interpreted as an allusion to the penalty policy the minister supports regarding Palestinian prisoners.
The 'IRNA' Iranian News Agency, known for its hostile stance toward the State of Israel, claimed that the image reflects a "fascist ideology" of the minister and highlights his extreme positions toward Palestinians.
Similarly, the Akharin Khabar network reported that this is a "chilling symbol" testifying to the "cruel" face of the political echelon in Israel. In a further report, the network noted that many social media users expressed deep shock and wrote that "even on his birthday, he seeks more death."
The Fars News network, which is identified with biting critical positions toward Israel, also added that the image serves as further proof of the nature of the current government, using the expression "joy alongside a cake that reeks of death."
