Explosions Reported in Saudi Arabia

Sounds of explosions have been reported in Saudi Arabia on March 18, 2026, according to alerts from multiple Iranian news channels on Telegram. The breaking reports emerged simultaneously across Iranian outlets representing different domestic political factions.

The حامیان پزشکیان (Pezeshkian Supporters) channel, which aligns with Iran's reformist president, stated that there is "Explosion sound in Saudi Arabia right now." At the same time, the کانال اخبار سپاه پاسداران 🏴 (IRGC News Channel), a hardline outlet affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported, "Right now/ Explosion sound reported in Saudi Arabia."

These reports follow a massive regional escalation that began on March 16. During that exchange, the Israeli military struck over 200 military targets in Iran, and U.S. CENTCOM forces attacked Iranian assets on Kharg Island under Operation Epic Wrath. In response to the U.S. and Israeli operations, Iran launched hundreds of retaliatory strikes, which explicitly included targeting U.S. military assets located within Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Erbil. The brief messages provided by the Iranian channels today do not specify the exact location, targets, or cause of the newly reported explosions.

Notes

Both source channels provided identical breaking news alerts with no further context. One channel is aligned with the reformist faction (Pezeshkian), while the other is a hardline military channel (IRGC), showing cross-factional reporting of the same event in the Iranian information space.
