President Trump issued an ultimatum to Iran in an interview with 'The New York Times', stating that if an agreement on the nuclear issue is not reached within 60 days, the U.S. will resume military strikes against Tehran or redefine its status as the "Guardian of the Middle East" in exchange for 20% of the region's revenues, as reported in Abu Ali Express in English. According to the report, the U.S. and Iran are conducting negotiations to halt uranium enrichment for a period of 15 to 20 years, while limiting enrichment to a low level only, which does not allow for military use.
The announcement sparked sharp criticism among commentators identified with right-wing positions. Amir Tsarfati, known for his critical views toward Iran, argued that the American administration is "capitulating at every possible level" and warned that "if Iran can enrich to 3%, it can enrich to 90%". According to him, Iran will use the agreement to deceive the world again.
On the other hand, Amit Segal defined the outline as "a total surrender", pointing out that the agreement provides Iran with cover to hide more advanced enrichment activities.
