Attack on a mosque in the village of Jiljiliya
During the night (June 17, 2026), it was reported in many Palestinian media outlets that a mosque was set on fire in the village of Jiljiliya, located north of Ramallah. According to شبكة قدس الإخبارية, which published documentation of the burning structure, settlers set fire to the mosque and sprayed "hostile graffiti" on its walls during a raid on the village. Al Jazeera Palestine added that "racist graffiti" was also sprayed at the scene.
The incident was widely covered as an act of settler terrorism. The أخبار فلسطين العاجلة 24 network defined the incident as part of "settler militia terrorism," terminology also adopted by Ultra palestine, which described the perpetrators as "settler gangs."
Local sources, as cited by قناة فلسطين اليوم, confirmed that the structure was set on fire during a nocturnal raid, with images circulated on نابلס بوست showing the extent of the damage to the village's great mosque. Other networks, including Jenin News and شبكة أخבר فلسطين, also reported on the incident along similar lines, emphasizing the deliberate nature of the arson and the damage to a religious site.
