In a move ahead of Eid al-Adha, the Iraqi Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani (Basem Muhammad Khudair), ordered the provision of a financial bonus to ministry employees. According to reports by Al-Sabah Iraqi Newspaper, the newspaper affiliated with the establishment and state media in Iraq, the bonus will amount to "100,000 dinars" for all ministry employees.

The directive includes not only permanent state employees, but also contract workers and daily-wage earners. According to the Baghdad Today News Agency, which closely follows government and economic developments in Baghdad, this is a comprehensive benefit intended to assist employees on the occasion of the upcoming holiday.

Media outlet Rudaw Arabic, which is affiliated with the autonomous government of Kurdistan but extensively covers the political scene in Baghdad, also confirmed the details of the decision. In Rudaw's report, Minister Abdul-Ghani was quoted as having directly ordered the execution of the payment for all sectors employed under the Ministry of Oil.
