According to the reports, the U.S. has established a "defensive umbrella" aimed at ensuring freedom of navigation and security in the strategic waterway.
Al Jazeera, the channel with an orientation critical of U.S. policy in the Middle East, emphasized in its reports the direct involvement of Washington. According to Al Jazeera, the American spokesperson stated: "We have deployed a defensive umbrella to provide a safe route in the Strait of Hormuz."
In addition, the Al Jazeera report noted that this concerns a "safe route... which Washington provided and placed a safe umbrella over." The channel also emphasized in another publication that the U.S. "sought to protect and defend a safe route in the Strait of Hormuz" according to Al Jazeera.
