Iran responds to Trump: "Global food security is under our control"

In response to remarks attributed to former President Donald Trump regarding the imposition of 'starvation' sanctions, Ali Akbar Velayati, advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran, launched a sharp attack against the American administration. According to reports by Al Jazeera and Al Mayadeen, media outlets identified with the Axis of Resistance, Velayati claimed that Trump's threats indicate a "lack of knowledge regarding the economic and political population of the world."

Velayati emphasized that Iran holds a significant bargaining chip: "Global food security and the chemical fertilizer supply chain in the Strait of Hormuz are under our control" according to an Al Mayadeen report. According to him, any attempt by the West "to play with this vital artery" will be met with a resolute response and will lead the West "to a dead end" as noted by Palestine Today Channel.

In addition, the Leader's advisor cast doubt on the capabilities of the US as a superpower. According to the Al Jazeera channel, Velayati noted that "the withdrawal of US forces from Germany and the technical problems in its ships" serve as evidence of the "collapse of White House illusions."
